Our Vision

Saint Hildegards Church welcomes and invites you, regardless of your race, gender, marital status, or orientation, to join with us and participate in all aspects of our ministry and worship. Our weekly public worship is the Mass - or Eucharistic liturgy - which is celebrated by the community every Sunday. The service includes prayer, Scripture readings, teaching, Holy Communion, and blessing.

We are an open and welcoming community that comes together for worship and public service in the Apostolic tradition. We hold to the ancient beliefs of the Christian Church expressed in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds. We celebrate and openly share with all persons, the sacraments of the Christian Church- namely, Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion, Reconciliation, Marriage, Anointing of the Sick, and Holy Orders.

Saint Hildegard's parish is in the jurisdiction of the Old Catholic Church. In union with Old Catholic Church teachings, our members are free to interpret Scripture, the creeds, and tradition in light of wisdom gained through reading the bible, prayer, meditation, Christian education, and personal experience.

We firmly believe that spiritual growth can only be nourished in community and must include Bible study and prayer focused on maintaining one's personal relationship with God and the community. The life of Saint Hildegard's parish is centered on the sacred Scriptures that culminate in the ministry, passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We know that the presence of the Holy Spirit brings life to, teaches, and guides the entire Christian Church through time.

We support one another in developing and putting into action, spiritually based, courageous, and compassionate ministry to personal, local, and global needs. All forms of ministry must be guided by the Holy Spirit and must be based on the use of one's personal gifts in response to the needs of those being served. Therefore, we encourage and support one another in the development of creative and cooperative ministries that can bring us into closer relationship with God.

Our parish is a growing community of faith which is part of the universal Christian Church. We respect the religious beliefs and practices of others and actively participate in ecumenical association and interaction.
